MBE Experience since 1990


Dr. Eberl

In November 1990, Dr. Karl Eberl founded Dr. Eberl MBE-Komponenten GmbH as a spin-off from the Technische Universität München, Walter-Schottky-Institute, Garching. The first products launched were Silicon Sublimation Sources, Carbon Sublimation Sources, and High Temperature Sources for Molecular Beam Epitaxy. Dr. Karl Eberl also supervised the MBE division at the Max Planck Institute Stuttgart and has over 15 years of active research experience, resulting in over 300 publications in the field of SiGe and III-V compound MBE.

Over the past 35 years, Dr. Eberl MBE-Komponenten GmbH has delivered over 4000 effusion cells and evaporation sources, as well as systems and services, to more than 2000 customers worldwide.

Our company is headquartered in Weil der Stadt, Germany, the birthplace of the famous astronomer Johannes Kepler (1571-1630). The picturesque medieval town on the edge of the northern Black Forest near Stuttgart provides an ideal setting for our highly qualified team of specialists to design and manufacture the optimal products for your MBE/UHV applications.

How to reach us

By train: Weil der Stadt train station can be reached from downtown Stuttgart in about 40 minutes on the S6 suburban train. The station is within walking distance of our offices.

By plane: We are conveniently located within 50 minutes of Stuttgart Airport (STR) by public transportation or approximately 30 minutes by car.

By car: Weil der Stadt is situated on the B295 federal highway, offering easy access to the highway junction at Rutesheim, Leonberg-West, and Heimsheim on the A8, as well as the A81 junction at Böblingen-Hulb. The city is surrounded by major towns, including Sindelfingen, Böblingen, and Leonberg, which are each approximately 15 minutes away, and Stuttgart, which is approximately 30 minutes away.
